Saturday Night Videos: Scandals in the Most Ethical Congress Ever

Whatever happened to Pelosi’s promise that she would run the most ethical Congress evah? A host of New York Democrats have been getting in trouble lately and, while each probably deserves their own separate post, time will simply not permit it. Thankfully, Jon Stewart capably catches us up on New York’s governor and its longest serving congressman:
Eric Massa, a freshman congressman from New York, is also stepping down after allegations he sexually harassed a male staffer:
This raises the question: Should Massa’s resignation be accepted as prima facie evidence that he is guilty? Should this reset the infamous Sexual Misconduct Counter on our home page? I say yes, but others might disagree. For what its worth, the Lizard Master has already reset his counter.
This rash of scandals hits the Democrats at an inopportune time. The New York Times reports:
Taken together, the cases have opened the party to the same lines of criticism that Democrats, led by Representatives Nancy Pelosi, now the House speaker, and Rahm Emanuel, now White House chief of staff, used effectively against Republicans in winning control of the House and Senate four years ago.
The mix of power and the temptations of corruption can be a compelling political narrative at any time. But with voters appearing to be in an angry mood and many already inclined to view all things Washington with mistrust, the risks for Democrats could be that much greater this year.
Regardless of political affiliation, however, the United States deserves politicians who are competent and ethical. Hopefully, voters remember that this Fall.

Yeah, I guess it's a yes... I'll reset the counter, and update the list. - Todd

I think even New Yorkers are beginning to wake up to the fact they live in a political cesspool where the politicians have gotten too comfortable in their elected-for-life roles and this could lead to a long overdue house cleaning by the voters . . . we can hope so at any rate.
Reset the counter but keep your hand on the reset button; it will probably need to be reset soon. - Just Sayin'
